About Us

Bruno

In 1994 Gerald “Bruno” Burnosky was awarded SSI’s Platinum Pro Diver certification in recognition of his long service to the SCUBA industry. He has owned and operated his Scuba & Hockey Shop since 1968, combining his hard work ethic and his two passions.

As well as having trained over 5000 divers (including the owners of some of the other local dive stores), Bruno has designed regulators, discovered wrecks, been on TV and even wore a suit once or twice, while still managing to keep a smile on his face.

Still active, Bruno has a hand in everything that goes on at the dive shop, constantly expanding the facilities and services offered, sharing his knowledge and experience with customers and the other instructors and staff (whether they want it or not!)

Everyone that comes in through the door of the dive shop is treated like a long time friend and it is this warm and friendly atmosphere that creates a comfortable environment for new divers to learn and keeps certified divers coming back for more.

Bruno's Dive Team

Bruno's Students and Divers are always considered part of the Team and are welcome to drop by anytime. We absolutely encourage our divers to jump in Bruno's Pool and keep skills up to date.

Although our charter boat is not in the water year-round, diving is always possible and there are a number of ways that you can find out what is going on and who is diving where.

Bruno's Dive Shop has a Facebook Page.

Other Facebook Groups that you could get involved with are the Third Coast Divers & the Michigan Lake Diver's Association.

ScubaBoard is a huge online forum comrpised of thousands of divers, including an active local group known as the Great Lakes Wrecking Crew.
